Our Health & Safety Policy

Facility Shield FM is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for employees, contractors, and the public. We follow relevant UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice. Hazards are identified, risks are assessed, and control measures are put in place to prevent injury and ill health. Everyone is expected to play their part by working safely, reporting concerns, and following site rules.

Risk Management

We manage risk by carrying out regular site-specific risk assessments for our security and facilities tasks. Significant risks are documented, control measures are agreed with clients, and actions are tracked to completion. Staff are briefed on the risks that affect their work and are expected to follow safe systems of work at all times. We review and update risk assessments when conditions change or after any incident.

Emergency Procedures

Facility Shield FM ensures that clear emergency procedures are in place for every site we protect. Our teams are briefed on fire evacuation routes, assembly points, and how to respond to security incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical events. Staff must follow client and site instructions, remain calm, prioritise life safety, and contact the appropriate emergency services and control room without delay.

Training & Awareness

Health and safety training is built into how we work at Facility Shield FM. All staff receive appropriate induction, role-specific, and refresher training for their duties, including conflict management, manual handling, and emergency response where required. We promote ongoing safety awareness through toolbox talks, briefings, and site communications so that our teams stay informed and confident to act safely.
